The Private Pilot Certificate is for anyone who wants to fly for recreation. It is also the first step for someone seeking advanced helicopter ratings. The costs outlined below illustrate the minimum hourly requirements required by the FAA FAR Part 61. It is difficult to achieve the required proficiency in this time period. A total flight time of 60 hours prior to a student obtaining their private pilot’s license is not uncommon.
